2022 Spring Registration (Regular Registration)


Begins at 9am Nov 26th – Ends on Jan 28th OR until all spots are full.

Regular Registration (Nov 29th – Jan 28th: $110 ($50 Registration Fee + $60 Required Fundraiser Participation)

Jan 29th – Spring Tryouts & WFC Pickup (Times are TBD).

Please Note: Only the Parent/Guardian(s) on the registration form may pickup WFC candy on Jan 29th (must provide valid ID and Credit Card information)

Feb 12th – WFC Money MUST be turned in (Times are TBD)

- Open registration spots are based on the number of coaches per age division. If you would like to be a Head Coach, please contact Ruben Garcia 281-904-5109 ASAP!
- Registering ONLINE is the preferred choice. Any in-person registrations may be conducted towards the end of the registration period, when availability is limited and chances of being on a Waiting List are higher.
- SBGSA will NOT make any promises or guarantees that your child will be assigned to a certain coach/team or with a neighbor/friend etc. Exceptions are siblings in same age group.
- Once an age division is at capacity the option to register your child will not be available online UNTIL we get another Coach and/or pitchers. If you wish to be added to the Waiting List, you must contact Ruben Garcia 281-904-5109.

- SBGSA will NOT issue refunds after THE DRAFT nor will a uniform be issued to dropped/withdrawn players. Parents: Please review jersey sizes, no changes can be done after you have completed registration. No exceptions.
- Fundraiser Fee during the Spring season is NON-REFUNDABLE.
- Registration Fee maybe partially REFUNDED after Feb 1st (minus expenses) should the season be canceled by SBGSA. This Partial refund will be applied to 2023 Spring season (no exceptions).

- All Pitchers in the following age divisions 10U, 12U, and 14/16U must provide # of seasons of pitching experience and pitching coach name on the registration form.
- SBGSA requires that every team 10U and up must have at least 1 REGISTERED primary pitcher and 1-2 REGISTERED secondary pitchers before a team can be official. All pitchers may be subject to private tryouts to confirm skill level.

- All Registered Players must attend tryouts on their designated day/time. Unless otherwise instructed by the Player Agent or Executive SBGSA Board Member.
- If you are unable to attend tryouts, player will be put into the blind draft.

- SBGSA makes no guarantees that canceled games (due to weather, pandemic, scheduling, etc) will be made up.
- SBGSA Home games may be played at neighboring fields.

- Due to liability issues SBGSA chooses to NO longer accept “Never Played” or “Players with less than 1 year Softball Experience” in the 14/16U division. No exceptions. If you have questions regarding this decision, please contact southbeltgirlssoftball@live.com
- SBGSA does NOT retain Birth Certificates from Previous Registrations.
- Coaching Incentives: Applies for only Head Coaches are their daughters (must be living in the same household). Reimbursement is only done after background check has been paid for & approved by SBGSA. Any question contact Ruben Garcia 281-904-5109

Only the parent on the Registration form can pickup their WFC chocolate on Sat Jan 29th & they MUST sign the WFC Fundraiser Authorization Form [NO EXCEPTIONS]. All Money must be turned in Feb 12th [NO EXCEPTIONS].

Parent Code of Conduct

SBGSA strongly believes the essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Good Citizenship. As a parent or guardian of a player in SBGSA, your actions reflect not only on you, but your child, her team and SBGSA.

As a parent with SBGSA, you agree to abide by and follow the rules and guidelines below:

Parent/Guardian, my guests, and my player will:

- Be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and demonstrate positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or event.

- Encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will demand that my child treat all players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect. Failure to do so may result in the removal of the player from the game/practice for a duration of time.

- Maintain self-control at games, practices and other league events.

- Will support the coaches allow them to do their job by not coaching my child or other players during games and practices. They will not openly question or confront coaches before, during or after games or practices. They will take the time to speak with coaches about any concerns calmly, privately and at an agreed upon time and place.

- Promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I have for my child or his/her team to win.

- Inform the coach of any physical disability, illness or injury that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others, including a COVID-19 diagnosis.

- Notify the coach or coach representative if my child is unable to attend games/practices in a timely manner.

- Not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, parent, or board member such as booing, taunting or using profane language or gestures.

- Not engage in any language or actions with the intent to initiate, hurt, intimidate or humiliate any player, coach, official or spectator. These acts shall be considered harassment and will result in the immediate removal from the practice, game or event.

- Not post on any social media site (including Team Communications from TeamSnap, GroupMe, etc) with the intent to initiate, hurt, intimidate or humiliate any player, coach, official or parent. The posting of negative, demeaning or derogatory comments will not be tolerated. These acts shall be considered harassment and may result in the immediate removal from SBGSA.

- Never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a game on SBGSA fields/events.

- Not complain or become confrontational about penalties or calls made by the officials and will respect the umpires and their decisions at all times. Failure to comply will result in removal of the parent/guest from the fields by an official or board member on duty, for a duration of time.

- Not force child to participate in softball.

Failure to comply with the PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT may result in the following but not limited to:
- Immediate removal of parent/guest/player from the game/practice by board or league official.
- Suspension of parent/guest/player from participation or attendance from an unknown number of home games by board or league official.
- Complete withdrawal from the season pending board review.

Covid-19 Acknowledgement

Participants, parents, family, and spectators engaging in softball and softball-related
activities do so with the knowledge of the risk and potential exposure to COVID-19 and agree to accept
any and all inherent risks to their or child’s personal health.

The following guidelines will be in place for the 2021-2022 Season for our members.

• Member must keep themselves and players home if they or anyone in the household shows any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with a COVID-19 infected person within the previous 14-days of a scheduled practice.
• Must notify coaches before any practice if any player has any pre-existing health conditions.
• Each player will be asked to carry a personal size container of hand sanitizer in their sports bags.
• No parents will be allowed on the fields.
• All players must use their own bat, helmet, glove, batting gloves, catcher’s gear and face masks. No sharing will be allowed of any kind at any time.
• No sharing of drinks or food is allowed.
• No parents will be allowed on the fields.
• Coaches are asked to use text or communications app, such as GroupMe, to notify parents of any new safety practices.

SBGSA is located at El Franco Lee which is part of Precinct 1 Harris County Parks. The league will work with Harris County Parks Precinct 1 to implement the following:
• Provide access to bathrooms with soap.
• Work with county to ensure bathrooms are sanitized on a regular schedule.
